Devon in Pictures represents the work of photographer Peter Dean. Peter is based in Plymouth from where he travels throughout the south-west UK county of Devon. The pictures are taken from recent exhibitions of photos and depict the many faces of Devon, from its coastline to high moorland.

Straightforward postcard style pictures are juxtaposed with plays on light and observations of the uniquely Plymouthian and Devonesque scenes. Peter toys with perspective, the humorous and the idiosyncratic but most importantly all are what Peter sees as the plainly beautiful.

Images on Devon in Pictures range from views of Plymouth Sound to the urban landscapes of the Barbican and Royal William Yard, to country scenes of Dartmoor and Sheep’s Tor along with abstract images including Yellow Chairs and Odd Perspective.
